Leveling Kit Installation in Alberta

Want to reduce the factory rake on your truck or add moderate front tire clearance? Raven Truck Accessories supplies and installs vehicle-specific leveling kits at locations across Alberta.

BDS Suspension and Zone Offroad leveling kits are regularly stocked for popular truck applications. We also carry FOX suspension components and can source leveling kits from other major brands when a different system is better suited to your truck.

Professional leveling kit installation is available in Grande Prairie, Edmonton, Red Deer and Calgary.

What Does a Leveling Kit Do?

Many trucks sit higher at the rear from the factory to accommodate cargo and towing weight. A levelling kit raises the front suspension to create a more level stance.

Truck owners commonly choose a leveling kit to:

  • Reduce the factory front-to-rear rake
  • Create a more level truck appearance
  • Add clearance for certain larger tire sizes
  • Reduce front-end sag from compatible added accessories
  • Make a moderate suspension change without installing a full lift kit

The final height and tire clearance depend on the truck, kit design, suspension condition, wheel offset and tire size.

Is Leveling Right for Your Truck?

A leveling kit is not the right choice for every truck or every use. Before recommending one, Raven considers how the vehicle is driven and what it regularly carries.

Important details include:

  • Truck year, make, model and drivetrain
  • Current front and rear ride height
  • Desired amount of front lift
  • Planned wheel and tire size
  • Towing and payload use
  • Added weight from a bumper, winch or other accessories
  • Current shocks, struts and suspension condition
  • Daily, work, highway or gravel-road use

If your truck regularly carries heavy cargo or tows a trailer, raising the front can make rear sag more noticeable when loaded. Air bags or another load-support option may be recommended alongside, or instead of, a leveling kit.

Leveling Kit Brands Available

Raven supplies suspension products for many popular Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Ram and Toyota trucks.

BDS Suspension

BDS offers vehicle-specific leveling systems for supported truck applications. Depending on the vehicle, a system may use strut spacers, coil springs, torsion-bar components, control arms or other suspension parts.

Zone Offroad

Zone Offroad provides practical leveling kit options in several configurations and heights. BDS and Zone kits are our primary in-stock levelling brands.

FOX and Other Suspension Brands

FOX shocks and related suspension components are available for selected applications. If you prefer another brand, Raven can usually order a compatible kit from the manufacturer.

Product design, included components and availability vary by vehicle. Our team will confirm the correct part number before quoting the installation.

What Leveling Kit Installation Includes

The exact work depends on the truck and kit. A typical installation may include:

  • Inspecting the existing front suspension
  • Measuring the truck’s current ride height
  • Removing the components required for access
  • Installing the levelling kit and supplied hardware
  • Installing included shocks, struts, spacers or control arms
  • Checking brake-line, wiring and suspension clearances
  • Checking steering and wheel-and-tire clearance
  • Torquing applicable hardware to the required specifications
  • Explaining alignment and re-torque requirements

If worn suspension or steering components are found, we will discuss them with you before completing additional work.

Leveling Kits and Larger Tires

A leveling kit may provide additional front tire clearance, but it does not guarantee that every larger tire will fit without rubbing.

Tire fitment also depends on:

  • Wheel width and offset
  • Tire width and diameter
  • Fender and bumper clearance
  • Mud flaps
  • Suspension travel
  • Steering clearance
  • Vehicle trim and factory equipment

Raven can help plan the leveling kit, wheels and tires together before parts are ordered.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a leveling kit and a lift kit?

A leveling kit primarily raises the front of a truck to reduce factory rake. A lift kit raises both the front and rear and may replace or relocate more suspension components.

Do I need a wheel alignment after installing a leveling kit?

A wheel alignment is generally required after changing the front suspension height. Your Raven location will explain the alignment requirements for the selected system.

Will a leveling kit affect ride quality?

It can. The amount of change depends on the kit, lift height and whether shocks, struts, springs or control arms are included. Raven can help you compare options based on your ride preferences.

Can Raven install a brand that is not in stock?

Yes. BDS Suspension and Zone Offroad are our main in-stock brands, but we can source kits from other manufacturers for many supported applications.

Can I level a truck that is used for towing?

Possibly, but raising the front can make rear sag more noticeable when the truck is loaded. Tell us about your trailer, tongue weight and typical cargo so we can recommend an appropriate setup.
